Staff Parish: Passing the Baton

Passing the Baton

     FUMC has had a number of ministers over the decades. For the last 12 years, we have had strong, steady, spirit-guided leadership from Pastor Rhonda. We will continue to have her leadership until her retirement, at the end of June. On July 1, the leadership baton will be passed to Rev. Dr. Jeffery McDowell. Staff Parish: Brent Arnold (Co Chair), Fred Daniels, Barb Hull, Gordon Gillette, Christina Peklak, Jan Przybylski, Ann Rouse, John Young, and Guerry Howard (Chair), has met twice with Rev. McDowell. We feel very comfortable that his gifts and graces will continue good, strong, spirit-guided, leadership for our Church.

     Rev. McDowell’s gifts and graces include: Helps churches lead in outreach to various age groups including children, youth, families and seniors; Has track record in growing churches in number, outreach, diversity, and witness; Is a fully ordained elder in the UMC; Skilled in staffing needs assessment and development; Has a Doctorate in Congregational Leadership; Has experience in various forms of worship planning and leadership, both traditional and contemporary; Is a strategic planner with team leadership development; Is strong in inspirational preaching of the word of God, bridging its truths to our everyday life;

     Members of Staff Parish will be working with Pastor Rhonda and Rev. McDowell during this transition period. We want to make it as smooth as possible. Please feel free to contact any member of Staff Parish with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
